The posts are open to trainees who hold a Training Number (NTN/VTN). NTN/VTN holders will need the written agreement of their Postgraduate Dean to bring their training number with them. 

Applicants must have completed at least four years of a Specialist Training in Cardio-thoracic Surgery.

The new sub-specialty requires that applicants must have passed the FRCS (CTh) intercollegiate examination before taking up the post.
