Safety, Quality & Improvement and the NHS Long Term Plan: What does this mean for me and my job?

Health Education England (HEE) (Wessex) and the Wessex Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) Patient Safety Team jointly hosted the 4th annual Wessex Safety, Quality and Improvement Conference on 8 October 2019.

The theme for the event was 'Safety, Quality and the NHS Long Term Plan: What does this mean for you and your job?' and was designed to explore themes from the NHS Long Term Plan and what this will mean in relation to quality and safety and those working within healthcare. The day was chaired by Tracy Broom, Associate Director Patient Safety, Wessex AHSN, and Dr Julia Harris, Associate Dean Patient Safety, HEE Wessex

Over 220 delegates enjoyed a varied day, including a mixture of plenary speakers, breakout sessions, 3-minute speakers, a poster display as well as innovators sharing their work to support some of the challenges faced within healthcare. The day generated a lot of interest on Twitter, with the events dedicated #CSIPwessex19 receiving over 940K Twitter impressions and 600 tweets!

HEE Wessex Quality Improvement Support Fund Posters

We were also pleased to be able to share the improvement work undertaken by the recipients of this year's HEE Wessex QI Support Fund. A summary of these can be found here. The individual posters will shortly be assed to the HEE Wessex School of Quality Improvement's QI Projects Hub.
