Developing the Future Primary Care Workforce within Primary Care Networks                                                                         HEE Wessex Primary Care Training Hubs are delighted to be hosting this event which aims to bring together all the Primary Care Network (PCN) Clinical and Education Leads within the Hampshire and Isle of Wight STP. This free to attend morning event will take place at Chilworth Manor Hotel, University Parkway, Chilworth, Southampton on Wednesday 26th February 2020 from 09:00 until 14:00. NHS Leadership Academy - Foundations of Organisational Development in Primary Care.                                                 Organisational Development (OD) is the application of behavioural science to organisational and system issues. In the NHS, OD is about leading change, service improvement initiatives, engaging and motivating staff, developing their talents and improving their potential. 

This 3 day programme has been designed for primary care colleagues, especially practice managers, who find themselves needing to lead change in their own practices and beyond and who want to broaden their own understanding of OD and how they can apply it to their work to enable them to manage change more effectively. NHS Leadership Academy - Systems Leadership Masterclass Series 2020                                                                                     As the move to Integrated Care Systems within the NHS continues, working collaboratively across systems is becoming more and more important. Patients and service users expect NHS teams to work in a more joined up way and creating a better leadership culture is critical to this change.

This series of masterclasses aim to support leaders in developing their systems leadership thinking, skills and competencies to help them work more collaboratively across the NHS, local government and wider care sector systems.

Bedside Emergency Assessment Course for Healthcare Staff (BEACH) 
This course is aimed at experienced unregistered healthcare staff working in a healthcare setting to teach and understand how to recognise deterioration in patients and teaches a structured and prioritised approach to assessment, care and escalation of concerns. Please click here further details.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)                                                                                                                                                            Mental Health First Aid is an internationally recognised training course which teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. Wessex Primary Care Training Hubs are approved to deliver this course to staff working in Primary Care settings. Opportunities:

Transition to First Contact Roles in Primary Care Module                                                                                                               Are you a registered Allied Health Professional new of planning a move to a First Contact Role in Primary Care? If so this brand new interprofessional unit developed in partnership between HEE Wessex Primary Care Training Hubs and Bournemouth University is designed to help you with this transition. Care of Clients with Minor Illness Module                                                                                                                                         Are you a Nurse or Allied Health Professional working in Primary care? Do you want to increase your knowledge and understanding about managing patients with minor illness? If so this introductory course and Bournemouth University will enable you to critically evaluate, audit and develop the care required for patients presenting with minor illness. Long Term Conditions Module                                                                                                                                                           Are you a Nurse or Allied Health Professional working in Primary care? Do you want to increase your knowledge and understanding about supporting those living with long term conditions? This introductory course will focus on the skills and insights need to provide effective patient centered, evidenced based care across a range of long term conditions in the GP surgery setting. Fully funded places are available on this 20 credit Degree or Masters level module.
